Construction Planning Manager (Entity: Deepak Chem Tech Limited)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Planning & Control Manager to oversee the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of construction activities for our multiple chemical processing plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction planning & management, with specific expertise in chemical processing facilities. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans and Schedules at L-1 to L-4 levels for portfolio of chemical processing plant projects.• Coordinate with internal teams OR EPCM contractors OR engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors (if applicable) to review project plans, specifications, and schedules, and provide input as needed.• Prepare Construction Control Index and generate S-Curves• Monitor and track construction progress, milestones, and deliverables, identifying and addressing any deviations or delays promptly.• Conduct detailed work front analysis across all disciplines and drive this exercise across construction team.• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to optimize construction sequencing, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency.• Lead monthly sign-off of plans with all contractors, as per the project targets.• Drive daily/weekly/monthly reviews with site contractors, ably assisting the Resident Construction Manager (s) in the same and maintain minutes of these reviews.• Prepare and present periodic progress reports, updates, and forecasts to project stakeholders, including senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and mitigation strategies.• Implement robust change management processes to document and evaluate changes to the construction scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring proper approval and communication.• Help foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence throughout the construction phase, promoting adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.• Mentor and coach junior members of the construction planning team, providing guidance and support to facilitate their professional development.• Conduct Risk management meetings and maintain risk register.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.• 15+ years of experience in construction planning and controls, with a focus on chemical processing plants or industrial facilities.• Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects from initiation to completion, adhering to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices, particularly as they relate to chemical processing facilities.• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.• Proficiency in project management software tools, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and Microsoft Office Suite.• Relevant certifications in construction management, project management, or occupational health and safety (e.g., PMP, PE, CSP) preferred.• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
