Job Description
Construction Project Coordinator / Estimator
D-Fence Fencing – Yakima / Selah, WA
D-Fence Fencing is looking for a motivated Construction Project Coordinator / Estimator to help manage commercial fencing projects from the bidding stage through completion.
This is not a position where you need years of fencing estimating experience. We are willing to train the right person. We are primarily looking for someone who already understands the construction industry, is very comfortable working on a computer, is organized, and wants to grow into a larger project-management and estimating role.
The right candidate may have experience in construction management, project coordination, superintendent or foreman work, or another construction-related position and be ready to move into more of an office/project-management role.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing construction plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Learning to estimate commercial fencing projects
- Preparing bids and proposals
- Working with general contractors, customers, suppliers, and field crews
- Coordinating materials and project schedules
- Tracking project costs and profitability
- Managing change orders and additional work
- Helping schedule crews and upcoming projects
- Following projects from bid through installation and completion
- Maintaining organized project files and documentation
- Helping make sure crews have the information and materials needed before arriving on site
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous construction or construction-management experience
- Is very comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Can read construction plans or is capable of learning quickly
- Is organized and detail-oriented
- Communicates well with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees
- Can manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Takes ownership of their work instead of waiting to be told every next step
- Wants to learn commercial estimating and the fencing industry
- Is interested in growing with a locally owned construction company
Compensation:
Starting around $30/hour, depending on experience, plus health insurance. There is room for increased compensation as the employee develops estimating and project-management skills and takes on more responsibility.
Schedule: Full-time, year-round position.
This could be an excellent opportunity for someone already working in construction who wants to transition into estimating and project management without needing years of previous estimating experience.
