Purpose of the Role
The Coordinator supports the Day Service Manager in the leadership, development and day-to-day operation of our three adult day service centres, two in Cork and one in Millstreet. The role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred supports in line with the HSE New Directions policy, organisational values and relevant legislation. Working closely with the Day Services Manager, the Coordinator will lead and support staff, oversee operational practices and deputise for the Manager in their absence.
- Salary: €43,680 per year.
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
- Hours & Commute: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (occasional evening flexibility required).
- Reporting To: Day Services Manager.
- Probation & Vetting: 6 months probation. Subject to reference checks, Garda Vetting, and international security clearance.

Key Responsibilities of the Coordinator
- Support the effective day-to-day management of each day service.
- Deputise for the Day Service Manager when required.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Team Leaders and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the principles of HSE New Directions, placing the individual at the centre of all planning and decision-making.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, equality, inclusion and rights.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Supervise and support staff to deliver high-quality services.
- Assist with recruitment, induction and onboarding of new employees.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings and contribute to performance management.
- Identify training needs and encourage continuous professional development.
- Promote effective teamwork, communication and accountability.
Quality, Compliance and Safeguarding
- Support compliance with HSE standards, organisational policies and relevant legislation.
- Promote best practice in safeguarding and ensure concerns are managed promptly and appropriately.
- Monitor incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate reporting and follow-up.
- Participate in quality audits, service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with GDPR.
Operational Management
- Assist with staff rostering and allocation of resources to meet service needs.
- Monitor attendance, leave and staffing requirements.
- Ensure the service environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and service improvements.
Partnership Working
- Develop positive relationships with individuals using the service, families, advocates, community organisations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Represent the service professionally at meetings and external events where required.
- Promote collaborative working to achieve positive outcomes for individuals.
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- A Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care Practise.
- A management qualification or willingness to undertake one.
- A minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with disabilities.
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience of person-centred planning and outcome-focused supports.
- Knowledge of the HSE New Directions framework.
- Experience of safeguarding, risk management and quality improvement.
Other Requirements
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport, where required.
- Satisfactory Garda Vetting.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Flexibility to meet the operational needs of the service.
