Job Description
A rapidly growing, entrepreneurial hospitality ownership and management group based in Kansas City is seeking an accomplished executive finance leader to step into the role of Corporate Controller. This premium group manages a half dozen beautiful properties, all well-branded, and is currently expanding its footprint with exciting new real estate development. This is a rare opportunity to serve as a true core business partner to the Executive Vice President, moving beyond day-to-day transaction management to influence macro-level portfolio strategy, refinancing options, and equity opportunities.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide overarching strategic financial leadership across a multi-entity portfolio of 6 (soon to be 7) hospitality operations.
- Oversee full financial reporting and comprehensive balance sheet analysis, resolving aged balances, outstanding accounts receivable, and unreconciled line items.
- Audit and optimize existing month-end closing timelines, transactional workflows, internal controls, and corporate compliance protocols.
- Formulate and manage complex municipal financing mechanisms, including Community Improvement Districts (CID) and Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) frameworks.
- Supervise, mentor, and build a high-performing centralized corporate accounting team, including staff accountants and property-level finance personnel.
- Manage tax compliance schedules, filing calendars, and payment tracking across all portfolio legal entities to ensure seamless compliance.
Position Requirements
- Proven experience as a Director of Finance and Accounting (DOF) within a full-service hotel or multi-unit hospitality environment.
- Deep mastery of hotel-specific operational metrics (including ADR and RevPAR) alongside strong GAAP accrual accounting proficiency.
- Direct background managing centralized finances for multiple distinct business entities simultaneously.
- Advanced accounting technology proficiency, with preferred background in Sage or M3 software environments.
- Outstanding communication skills and executive presence necessary to report directly to principal investors, lenders, and ownership boards.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a CPA designation would be a huge bonus.
Compensation Package Details
- Base Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 (with flexibility based on experience)
- Performance Bonus: Up to 30% performance bonus potential
- Total OTE Opportunity: $180,000 – $208,000+
