We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our growing manufacturing company of 400+ employees headquartered in Brookville, PA. This position plays a critical role in the financial health of our business — owning cost integrity, inventory accuracy, and margin reporting across all manufacturing locations. The right candidate will go beyond the numbers, partnering closely with operations, engineering, and finance to understand our processes, identify cost drivers, and influence real business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly gross margin reporting by customer, product line, and job
Analyze estimated versus actual manufacturing costs and communicate insights and recommendations to operations and leadership
Own COGS validation and support month-end close, including journal entries, inventory valuation, and account reconciliations
Lead inventory control initiatives and oversee cycle count and physical inventory programs
Maintain costing structures within the ERP system, including BOMs, routings, labor standards, and overhead rates
Partner cross-functionally with operations, production, engineering, and supply chain to identify root causes of variances and implement corrective actions
Support internal and external reporting requirements, including audit support and management reporting
What We're Looking For
A proactive, hands‑on accountant who enjoys working alongside operations and understanding manufacturing processes firsthand
Someone who moves beyond reporting to identify cost drivers, improve inventory accuracy, and influence operational and financial outcomes
A team member who balances financial accuracy with practical operational insight and a continuous improvement mindset
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; 5+ years preferred
Experience with inventory valuation, weighted average costing, and variance analysis in a multi-facility operation
Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures including material, labor, and overhead allocation
Proficiency in ERP systems (IFS preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Working knowledge of GAAP as applied to manufacturing and inventory accounting
CPA or CMA preferred
Ability to travel between plant locations as needed (less than 10% overnight travel)
