Job Description
The Customer Service Representative is a dedicated individual who leverages customer focus with inbound calls and other electronic contacts to assist customers with orders, quotes and any additional requests. He/she will be a knowledge base of the company's catalog of products and services to offer the best customer service experience to current and prospective clients as well as with internal departments. Whether creating a new customer, expanding another one's service or renewing an old lead's interest, the ability to envision new opportunities is a critical key to continued success.
Essential Job Functions
As a part of the sales team, the representative also supports field sales staff, including Sales Managers. They respond to customer inquiries for the purpose of taking orders, which may be received through web/inbound calls/inquiries and orders. The focus is on servicing and growing an existing customer base.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acts as part of a sales team and supports field sales staff, including Sales Managers.
- Responds to customer inquiries for the purpose of taking orders.
- Focuses on retaining and growing an existing customer base.
- Sells company products to customers via telephone or electronic inquiries.
- Responds to web and/or email inquiries and orders.
- Inquiries typically made through inbound telephone sales activities with limited outbound call responsibilities.
- May also be involved in order fulfillment, post-sales or administrative related activities.
- Applies understanding of company policies and procedures to resolve potential issues and further address customer needs.
- Enter orders in ERP system, verifying all information is correct according to the customer’s request.
- Work with other departments as needed to ensure all customers needs are met.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to support departmental and company objectives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Highly customer focused and a team player
- Minimum of 1‑2 years of related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite products
- Exercise critical thinking skills that will move the team forward
- Demonstrate a high degree of multitasking to ensure prompt service
- Navigate multiple internal software applications while resolving customer issues
- Dedicated to improving customer loyalty and retention
