Damper design engineer

Role description:

All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.

• To engineer a new line of high performance dampers for aftermarket and motorsport applications
  
• To work with suppliers to develop bespoke or improved versions of existing damper products
  
• Develop component targets based on customer requirements and track data
  
• Create product costings at concept phase and monitor/manage product costings through the entire project.
  
• Create and manage test plans
  

Experience & qualifications:

• MINIMUM of an HNC/HND in mechanical or automotive engineering
  
• MINIMUM of 5 years design experience of vehicle dampers
  
• Eloquent and outgoing, able to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers and liaise on technical matters with other departments and customers
  
• CAD experience using Catia, NX, Creo, Solidworks or similar
  
• Experience of DFM, DFA, tolerancing
  
• Significant experience of cascading xwwtmva vehicle level attribute targets to component specifications
  
• Knowledge of the associated CAE tools and test methods for suspension systems
  
• Working knowledge of D-FMEA, P-FMEA, DVP's & APQP
