Join our Ground Engineering Team as a Data Analyst for Sizewell C in Suffolk, and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and the world around you.
The Digital Analyst supports the organisation’s digital endeavours by analysing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and designing solutions using Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure-based tools. They act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring digital solutions align with business needs, governance, and security standards. The Geotechnical Subcontract Alliance (GSA) is a key part of the Sizewell C nuclear power station project on the Suffolk coast.
It focuses on preparing the ground for construction by building cut‑off walls, improving soil stability, and installing bearing elements and retaining structures. The work involves advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting, using specialist equipment including hydrofraises, hydraulic grabs, piling rigs, and soil mixing plants. The GSA team operates under a collaborative alliance model to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality results.
This is a site‑based role and requires 5 days a week on site. What you’ll be doing Conduct discovery sessions to understand business processes and improvement opportunities. Map current and future processes using visual tools.
Gather, document, and prioritise functional and non‑functional requirements. Identify use cases for automation, workflow digitisation, and data‑driven decision‑making. Design, optimise and document digital workflows using M365 tools such as SharePoint Online (sites, lists, document libraries, metadata), Teams (collaboration structures, governance, channel design), OneDrive, Forms, Planner, Loop.
Support M365 governance, permission models, and information architecture. Promote best practice in digital collaboration and document management. Analyse opportunities to automate processes using Power Automate (flows, approvals, RPA where applicable), Power Apps (canvas/model‑driven applications), and integrate Power BI (dashboards, data modelling, KPI reporting).
Develop proof‑of‑concept solutions or work with developers for full deployment. Ensure solutions meet governance, lifecycle, and security requirements. Work with Power Platform Admins to monitor usage, capacity, and compliance.
Work with Azure teams to integrate M365/Power Platform solutions with Azure services. Understand high‑level cloud architecture and how it supports digital services. Support data preparation for reporting and analytics initiatives.
Create user guides, training materials, and knowledge articles. Deliver workshops to increase adoption of digital tools. Support change management activities for new digital solutions.
Drive a culture of self‑service, digital literacy, and automation. Contribute to digital strategy, transformation roadmaps, and standards. Evaluate new M365/Power Platform/Azure features and assess business value.
Monitor solution performance, security, and usage analytics. Support governance frameworks around data, access, and low‑code development. Provide training, documentation, and guidance to help end users interpret outputs.
Present insights and findings to management and decision‑makers. Support change management and adoption of self‑service BI tools. Act as an ongoing point of contact through the lifecycle of an implementation to address any queries or requirements.
Who we’re looking for Essential Experience analysing business processes and mapping workflows. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Hands‑on experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
Understanding of cloud concepts, ideally Azure. Ability to translate business needs into digital solutions. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to create documentation, process maps, and user guidance. Previous experience in the role. Experience in running Gap Analysis workshops.
Desirable Experience with low‑code development or scripting. Familiarity with data modelling, governance, and data strategy. Experience with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Data Factory, SQL, Key Vault).
Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban). Exposure to DevOps/CI‑CD concepts (GitHub/Azure DevOps Pipelines). Understanding of information governance and UK GDPR.
Accreditation from a recognised governing body. Degree or similar qualification. Microsoft Power BI certification.
