Job Description: Data Lineage Developer (FTC)

Experience Level: Intermediate (2–5 Years)

Contract: 1-year

Location: Montreal, QC (Day‑1 onsite | Minimum 3 days per week in office)

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Lineage Developer to support strategic initiatives across Fixed Income Cash & FX systems. This role focuses on capturing, documenting, and publishing end‑to‑end data flows and ensuring accurate representation of risk‑related datasets across enterprise systems. You will collaborate with global teams, work with large codebases, and enhance strategic platforms contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance Fixed Income Cash & FX systems to enable data flow capture within the enterprise data catalog.
• Annotate system code to define and document datasets representing risk data processed within internal platforms.
• Modify build systems to automate publishing of datasets and ensure timely updates.
• Partner with upstream and downstream SMEs to map and thoroughly document end‑to‑end data lineage across Fixed Income systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in developing and supporting large-scale production systems.
• Strong understanding of complex data models and schemas.
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate large, multi-language codebases for tracing data flows and transformations.
• Hands‑on experience with Perl, Java, and SQL.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Autosys, Shell scripting, JSON, YAML.
• Experience with build pipeline systems.
• Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
• Understanding of messaging or streaming systems is a plus.
• Good financial domain knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
