Data Engineer Lead

We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and scale robust data platforms on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You’ll lead a team of engineers, define data architecture standards, and ensure reliable, high-performance data pipelines that support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.Key Responsibilities:Architecture & Design: Lead the design of scalable data architectures using AWS services such as Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena. Define data modeling standards (batch and real-time)Data Engineering & Pipelines: Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Lambda and Amazon KinesisEnsure data quality, reliability, and performance optimizationLeadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of data engineersConduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and guide technical decisionsCollaboration:Work with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data solutionsTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsGovernance & Security:Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)Ensure proper data access controls and auditingPerformance & Cost Optimization:Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost-efficiency and scalabilityMonitor and troubleshoot production systems Required Qualifications5+ years in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership roleStrong hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena)Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and modern ETL/ELT practicesSolid understanding of data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) Preferred QualificationsExperience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with real-time data streaming architectures
