Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time position offers an opportunity to work as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Nashville area, serving K-12 students. The role involves providing specialized educational services to students with hearing impairments, with assignments varying by school within the district. The contract runs from ASAP through May 20, 2026, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple schools
- Assess and adjust educational plans based on each students individual needs
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to optimize student success
- Manage caseloads that span kindergarten through 12th grade
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the school district
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
- Ability to work onsite in the Nashville suburban area
- Successful completion of district-required background check and fingerprinting process
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Location: Nashville area (suburbs on the northern side), Tennessee
Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday, onsite only
