Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to work part-time supporting 5th-grade students in a school setting located in Pickerington, Ohio. The role requires onsite presence for approximately 80 minutes per month and has a contract term beginning as soon as possible through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement effective educational strategies
- Monitor student progress and adapt lessons to meet individual learning goals
- Communicate regularly with families and school personnel to support student success
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Educator License with Hearing Impaired endorsement is mandatory
- Experience working with school-age children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of communication methods and assistive technology for DHH students
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, students, and families
