Role Summary:A Demand Planner in Strategic Sourcing develops, maintains, and improves demand forecasts to optimize inventory, reduce costs, and ensure supply chain alignment. This role acts as a crucial link between sales, marketing, and procurement, translating sales plans into actionable procurement strategies using data analytics to improve accuracy.
Main Task to perform Material Planning: Simulate Project wise Projection Qty, Inventory Status (on hand Sit Open PO), MRP RUN & PR/PO Release as in systemRM Visibility: New Project RM visibility vs Part Development, RM visibility for Regular production (Daily Weekly Monthly Plan)Project Demand Management: Material requirement tracking for Development activity RM Alignment of with Mass production scheduleProject Summary: New Project updates with RM Status Development Requirement Vs RM Arrival PlanAdvance Management: Forecast release / Global Holiday Vs Rm Plan, EOL Management (Shelf life) revalidationLogistics cost reduction: Freight cost Air/Sea reduction, Vessel /Air Space optimisationSupplier Management: Supplier capacity management, Logistics arrangement for Shipments, Customs clearance follow-ups, Import Logistics / MRP / Demand Planning / Inventory Management / Finance Reconciliation

Key Expectation:Forecast Modelling: Create and maintain consensus demand forecasts at the SKU, category, and customer levels by analysing historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal influencers.Strategic Sourcing Collaboration: Collaborate with procurement and strategic sourcing teams to align inventory flow with supplier capabilities, ensuring optimal inventory levels (avoiding overstock/shortages) and driving cost reduction opportunities.S&OP Leadership: Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to discuss demand changes, new launches, and promotions with cross-functional teams.Data Analysis & Accuracy: Track and improve forecast accuracy metrics (e.g., MAPE, Bias). Analyze market developments, including competitor actions and environmental factors that affect demand.Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., delivery delays) and develop contingency plans in collaboration with the sourcing team
Required Skills & Experience: Essential Skills:
Analytical & Technical SkillsStatistical Forecasting: Proficiency in forecasting models (e.g., time series, causal methods) to accurately predict demand and minimize forecast error.Data Analysis & Modeling: Utilizing Excel, Power BI, or SQL to analyze large datasets, optimize product availability, and manage inventory turnover.ERP Systems: Expertise in operating platforms like SAP, Oracle, or APS (Advanced Planning Systems) to integrate supply chain operations.KPI Management: Tracking and analyzing metrics such as forecast accuracy, bias, and inventory holding costs
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement IntegrationVendor/Supplier Management: Collaborating with procurement to align vendor capabilities with future demand, focusing on total value rather than just cost.Scenario Planning: Developing contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure delivery sustainability within constraints.Integrated Business Planning (S&OP): Facilitating Sales & Operations Planning meetings to align demand plans with financial and production capabilities.

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (Electronics/Mechanical) from a reputed institute.Minimum 8 10 years of work experience in the Demand planning & Strategic sourcingPreferred Industry Background: Automotive / White Goods / Consumer Electronics / Electronics / Medical Devices / Raising / PET / Films / Ink / Auto components / Automotive aftermarket, Auto Detailing & Customization, Car care & PPF companies, Window Films / Accessories or any relevant.
