Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Review product designs and apply DFM principles to ensure manufacturability, reliability,and cost-effectiveness. Translate designs into physical builds - including prototyping, fabrication, andassembly of components and systems. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency,quality, and scalability.
Work hands-on with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes (drilling,tapping, welding support, fitting, etc.). Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T reviews, and design validation to ensure robustproduction. Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvements and costreduction.
Collaborate with design, R&D, and engineering teams to shorten product developmentcycles. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in themanufacturing environment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production processes, equipment, andassemblies.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and assembly procedures. Evaluate and implement automation and Industry 4.0 solutions where relevant. Train and support production staff in new processes, tools, and best practices.
Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality materials, tooling, and components. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production Engineering (or equivalentpractical experience). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, sheet metal, fabrication,assembly.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.). Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and basic inspection methods. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams. Knowledge of safety practices in workshop and industrial environments Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience with tools: drill, tap, grinder, lathe/mill (manual or CNC basics). Experience in prototyping and rapid iteration.
Exposure to additive manufacturing / 3D printing. Awareness of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing. Knowledge of DFMA tools/software
