This purpose of this Development Operations Engineer role is:
To support and enable enterprise application development through scalable, reliable, and secure DevOps and SRE practices. This role focuses on building, automating, deploying, and operating modern payment solutions across on‑premise and cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and operational excellence.
A typical day at ACI for a Development Operations Engineer is:
Supporting enterprise application development teams, primarily in Java and/or C environments on Unix/Linux platformsDesigning, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Make, Helm, and AnsibleAutomating infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and AnsibleManaging source code and branching strategies using Git-based version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)Developing and maintaining scripts using Bash, Groovy, and PythonWorking with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AKSSupporting deployments and operations on public cloud platforms, with a preference for Microsoft AzureEnsuring system reliability, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery across regions and availability zonesCollaborating closely with development, QA, SRE, and security teams to support release management and operational readinessMonitoring system health and performance, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvementPerforming other duties as assignedUnderstanding and adhering to all corporate policies, including the ACI Code of Business Conduct and EthicsKnowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical studiesMinimum 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise application development, preferably in Java and/or C on Unix/Linux environmentsMinimum 3+ years of experience in a DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roleStrong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD principlesHands-on experience with automated build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Make, Helm, and AnsibleExperience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)Working knowledge of Linux environments and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and AnsibleProficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Groovy, and PythonExperience with container technologies (Docker)Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AKSExperience supporting cloud-based architectures, including networking, availability zones, regional failover, managed services, and PaaS offeringsPublic cloud experience required; Microsoft Azure preferred, but other cloud platforms consideredPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for this role:
