Digestive Health Services Screening RN

• Provides care to patients preparing for Gastroenterology procedures
• Focuses on preparation for procedures with the patient/family
• Prepares for discharge to home or other extended facilities
• Works closely with hospital and clinic staff in coordinating patient care
• Schedules patients for Gastroenterology procedures
• Conducts pre-procedural and post-procedural phone calls
• Provides consistent patient and family education
• Screens patients for Fast Track colonoscopy
• Completes documentation to avoid delays on day of procedure
• Assures compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards
• Assists in Digestive Health Service Line during high acuity times

Requirements

• Registered Nursing in State of Illinois
• Minimum 1 year CGH GI experience required
• Skilled in use of electronic medical record preferred
• Ability to write reports and proposals utilizing effective written communication preferred
