Job Description
Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Director of Internal Audit. Reporting to the VP of Internal Audit, this role will lead the company's SOX readiness and compliance program while driving internal audit initiatives, strengthening financial controls, and supporting enterprise-wide transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SOX readiness, compliance, risk assessments, control design, testing, and remediation activities.
- Execute financial and operational audits, identify control gaps, and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with business leaders to document and enhance key controls across financial processes, including Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and support SOX 404 compliance and PCAOB requirements.
- Oversee audit planning, reporting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, mentor, and lead audit team members while driving a strong controls culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CIA, CFE, or equivalent certification required.
- 10+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, internal controls, or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of SOX 404, PCAOB standards, COSO framework, and financial reporting controls.
- Big Four experience strongly preferred.
- Experience within a public company environment; SAP S/4HANA and IPO readiness experience are a plus.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
