Position Summary Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking an experienced pediatric physician leader to serve as Director of Pediatrics and Pediatric Residency Program Director. This position provides clinical and operational leadership for pediatric services across TFHC, supporting quality, productivity, provider development, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based patient care. As Pediatric Residency Program Director, this physician will lead the residency program's educational and administrative functions, including ACGME accreditation, curriculum development, resident and faculty evaluations, scholarly activity, faculty development, and continuous program improvement.
The Director will also maintain an active pediatric clinical practice, providing comprehensive outpatient care to children and adolescents. Essential Responsibilities Provide clinical and operational leadership for pediatric providers and health center operations Support the recruitment, retention, onboarding, training, and professional development of pediatric providers Monitor pediatric quality measures, productivity, access, compliance, and clinical performance Promote evidence-based practices and consistent standards of pediatric care across TFHC locations Lead pediatric chart review, peer review, provider feedback, and performance-improvement processes Support accreditation and regulatory readiness, including ACGME, AAAHC, UDS, NCQA, and HRSA requirements Serve as Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program Maintain compliance with ACGME institutional and program requirements Oversee the residency curriculum, clinical rotations, evaluations, committees, policies, and educational activities Collaborate with the Associate Program Director, faculty, medical education leadership, and institutional partners Support resident recruitment, orientation, advancement, remediation, supervision, and professional development Promote faculty development, scholarly activity, and continuous improvement within the residency program Provide direct outpatient pediatric care, including well-child visits, preventive services, acute care, and chronic disease management Collaborate with executive leadership, providers, residents, staff, community partners, and affiliated institutions Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation Protect patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety Travel between TFHC pediatric locations as operationally necessary Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, ACGME, and TFHC requirements Qualifications Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree Active and unrestricted Florida medical license Board Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics or an equivalent recognized certifying board Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program Active DEA registration Current Basic Life Support certification Minimum of three to five years of pediatric practice experience Experience in an FQHC, community health center, or ambulatory-care setting preferred Graduate Medical Education leadership or teaching experience preferred Experience with ACGME accreditation requirements strongly preferred Evidence of scholarly activity preferred EPIC experience preferred Strong leadership, clinical operations, communication, mentoring, and decision-making skills Knowledge of quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, and provider-performance standards Commitment to caring for culturally and economically diverse patient populations Benefits and Rewards TFHC offers a comprehensive physician benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, work-life balance, and professional growth: Competitive base salary with productivity incentive opportunities Medical and pharmacy coverage with low-cost employee premiums Dental and vision insurance $0 employee copays for eligible care received through TFHC Generous paid time off Seven paid company holidays Paid CME days and professional-development support Annual licensing stipend 401(k) retirement program with employer contribution after one year Company-paid FTCA malpractice coverage Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage Employee Assistance Program Voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance Voluntary pet insurance Student loan refinancing and financial-wellness resources NHSC Loan Repayment Opportunities Tampa Family Health Centers operates National Health Service Corps-approved locations.
