About This Role
The Teacher will oversee the development of a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum and crafting weekly lesson plans. Day-to-day classroom operations will be their responsibility. To ensure a safe and engaging environment, the Teacher must have a deep understanding of child development and be skilled in communication.
They will work closely with teacher assistants and parents, resolving concerns and guiding the teaching team to achieve success.
This position requires experience in a child care setting and a clean criminal background check.
What You'll Do
- Plan and implement educational curriculum through classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead the teaching team by example, modeling and coaching to encourage success.
- Design and execute individual and group activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Communicate regularly with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure the center's policies and state regulations are met.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, safety standards, and hygiene practices.
- Keep accurate records, forms, and files up-to-date.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Li>Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Li>High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Li>Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Li>Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- Li>Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
