Centrum Jezykow Obcych International House Bielsko-Biala Sp. z o.o.
Job Description
Job Summary
International House in Bielsko-Biala, Poland is looking for a qualified teacher to join our team for October 2026 to June 2027. Whether you are experienced or newly qualified, if you wish to develop professionally in the ELT world, we will support you with all the means we have available. Our Director of Studies is a qualified teacher trainer and will be able to offer you the support and guidance you need.
The Director of Studies is also the current Editor of the world-renowned IH Journal, so if you want to try writing about ELT as well as teaching, IH Bielsko-Biala is the perfect place for you. The school also runs Continuous Professional Development sessions on a weekly basis throughout the year, and for teachers looking to stay longer than one year, we also offer a stipend towards obtaining further qualifications with the International House Online Teacher Training Institute.
The teaching timetable runs from Monday to Friday. Our teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons (contracts tend to be for around 20 clock hours a week) to a range of small groups and 1‑2‑1 students, with most classes taking place in the afternoon and evening. You might teach General English and exam preparation classes to both younger learners and adults.
Some of your classes might be off‑site and/or online. Administrative duties and lesson planning are part of the job, as are marking tests and writing reports. You will be able to plan your lessons at your own desk in our spacious, well‑equipped staff room, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere (tea and coffee are supplied!).
All of our classrooms are equipped with an overhead projector and a laptop, and our teachers receive a complete set of coursebooks and teaching materials.
Coming to another country for work is always a challenge, and we aim to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible. We offer a relocation allowance, and assistance is always provided for finding accommodation. We will also help with opening a bank account and getting a SIM card.
International House Bielsko‑Biala has been the number‑one English language school in the city since 1993, and has a solid reputation in our local community for the great care we offer our students, families, and teachers alike. We have our own modern, four‑story building, with a spacious teachers room located on the top floor. Located close to the center of the city, the school is a stone’s throw from a number of supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants perfect for when you want to grab some lunch.
The city has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to nature and outdoor activities. Bielsko‑Biala has its own ski resort Debowiec, but more experienced skiers should also visit the nearby resorts in Szczyrk and Wisla. Apart from that there is the cable car to Szyndzielnia, Enduro Trails for bikers, and hiking trails for the rest of us!
The city is also well‑connected, with Katowice and Krakow only about an hour away.
