Overview
Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Groningen, this role is an opportunity to join our growing Critical Infrastructure Division as a Electrical Construction Manager supporting the delivery of a Hyperscale Data Centre in the North of Holland.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in managing and supervising personnel on site.
- Lead by example—enforce safety standards and exemplary quality of work.
- Assume leadership on site concerning the work being carried out, implementing the site safety plan & rules.
- Ensure employees have relevant training and expertise to carry out their work safely and professionally.
- Manage onsite labour resources to ensure efficiency, plan labour and material resources ahead of time, and manage subcontractor labour hours.
- Manage subcontractor activities, including tracking progress against the schedule.
- Maintain regular communication with subcontractors, addressing performance issues and maintaining working relationships.
- Maintain performance management of supervision and other personnel, report incidents, and take appropriate action.
- Ensure materials are checked and match the project specification prior to installation on site.
- Implement the project quality plan, closing out all snag lists in a timely fashion.
- Participate in project hand‑over to the client, supporting the close‑out of project items in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensure works are completed as per project scope; any additional works or changes are approved by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
- Trade or Degree qualified in an electrical discipline.
- Proven track record in electrical contracting with at least 8 years in a construction management position.
- Previous experience in data centre construction projects is desirable.
