Electrical Design Engineer

Hays Engineering are working in partnership with a company based in Dungannon to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer for their highly established site in Dungannon. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading business delivering to customers worldwide.The RoleAs an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for complex machinery and production equipment. You will be involved across the full product and project lifecycle, contributing to both new developments and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical control systems, schematics and wiring diagrams for automated equipmentDevelop panel layouts, cable schedules, BOMs and technical documentationSupport projects from concept through design, build, testing and commissioningEnsure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and customer specificationsWork closely with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutionsSupport prototype builds, testing and fault-finding activitiesAssist with design changes and engineering change control processesProvide technical support to manufacturing, installation and service teamsContribute to design standardisation, cost reduction and continuous improvement initiativesAbout YouSkills, Experience & QualificationsDegree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineExperience in electrical design within an industrial automation or manufacturing environmentStrong working knowledge of electrical CAD tools such as EPlan, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical or similarUnderstanding of control systems, machinery wiring and industrial electrical standardsExposure to PLC-based systems and automation equipment is highly desirableFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and build-driven design principlesExperience working to engineering standards and regulatory requirementsPersonal AttributesStrong attention to detail and technical problem-solving abilityWell organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesEffective communicator, comfortable working across engineering and operations teamsProactive, solution-focused mindset with a continuous improvement approachAble to work independently while contributing positively to a team environmentWhat's on Offer?Opportunity to work for a globally recognised businessChallenging and varied engineering projects with international exposureCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageLong-term career development, training and progression opportunitiesModern engineering environment with a strong focus on innovationIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
