Job Description
- Create and refine electrical control systems for custom automated machinery.
- Develop comprehensive design packages, including detailed schematics, cable charts, panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure all designs meet performance requirements, internal quality standards, and comply with relevant Electrical Codes and Safety Laws.
- Maintain and update standard design templates and documentation to streamline future workflows.
Project Life Cycle & Support
- Prepare "As-Built" documentation and assist in the creation of Operation Manuals and technical project documentation.
- Provide real-time technical support to the Production department during the build phase.
- Initiate and manage project change orders to ensure design integrity is maintained through iterations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Mechanical Engineering on electromechanical integration and collaborate with Project Coordinators to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and sales representatives.
- Assist Purchasing in defining technical specifications for components and evaluating alternate vendors to optimize cost and lead times.
Qualifications
- Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant electrical design experience, specifically within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- CAD Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills for BOM management are highly valued).
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with vendors and clients.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or vendor locations as required.
