Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the Chief Academic Officer, the Executive Director of Special Education provides leadership for planning and coordinating the District’s program for special education, counseling and psychological services, health services, teaching, research and evaluation; provides for supervision and evaluation of Psychologists, School Nurses, and Health Technicians; oversee compliance matters of the Department of Special Education; be responsible to provide the leadership in planning and implementation of the provision of special education services to the students who reside in Inglewood Unified School District; ensure that all schools and service providers are in compliance with the statutory requirements of IDEA, California State legal mandates, and the District Board policies governing the operation of special education programs; handle related assignments that contain legal procedural aspects; develop and provide necessary in-service training for staff members, including administrators, teachers, and other supporting staff members, as well as manage and complete State CASEMIS data reporting to the CDE
Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience in activities related to curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
- Must possess a Valid California Administrative Credential.
Credential Options
- Administrative Services Credential (Administrative Credential) AND
- Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild/Moderate (Education Specialist, Mild/Moderate) or
- Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Moderate/Severe (Education Specialist, Mod/Severe) or
- PPS Credential in Child Welfare and Attendance
