Job Description
Role OverviewThe Inventory Controller will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy and shrinkage control at the Distribution Center (DC), ensuring smooth inventory flow across fresh fruits & vegetables and ambient SKUs. The role focuses on maintaining alignment between system and physical inventory, minimizing wastage, and ensuring inventory readiness for daily order fulfillment. The position plays a critical role in improving inventory discipline, operational efficiency, and stock accuracy within a fast-paced distribution environment handling perishable inventory.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain inventory accuracy between WMS/ERP systems and physical stock across all DC zones; monitor stock movement, inventory transactions, and ensure timely reconciliation of discrepancies.Execute cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock checks; investigate inventory mismatches and support corrective actions and audit compliance.Track wastage, shrinkage, expiry, and damages across perishable inventory; publish reports and drive reduction initiatives for operational losses and write-offs.Manage GRN accuracy during inbound operations, validate stock entries, and coordinate with warehouse teams for accurate receiving and inventory handling.Ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance, monitor inventory ageing and slow-moving SKUs, and coordinate with Category and Procurement teams for inventory health management.Prepare inventory dashboards and reports covering inventory accuracy, shrinkage, wastage, expiry, and operational KPIs; support continuous improvement initiatives across inventory controls and processes. Qualification and ExperienceGraduate in any discipline; Supply Chain background preferred2-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or fulfillment center operationsExperience in quick commerce, grocery, e-commerce, D2C, or fresh produce supply chain environments preferredHands-on experience with WMS/ERP platforms such as SAP, Unicommerce, Increff, or similar systemsStrong understanding of FIFO/FEFO practices, cycle counting, and shrinkage controlStrong Excel/Google Sheets skills with experience in reconciliation and reportingStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and process orientationAbility to work in fast-paced operational environments and manage floor-level coordinationFlexibility to work across rotational shifts and operational schedules based on business requirements
