We are looking for passionate professionals to join our team as an Exterior Trim Design Engineer in Chennai!

Experience: 3-5 Years Location: Chennai Notice period- Imm-30 days(max) Tools: CATIA V5/V6, Teamcenter (PLM)

Design Engineer is responsible for exterior trims product development and details product design according to standards and guidelines. Translate defined product design performance criteria in CAD data & specifications. Area of Responsibility:This position is responsible for new design and development of exterior trims like Bumpers (Preferred), Wheel arch liners, Cladding, Undertray, Cowl vent grill, Door Appliques, Garnish, Roof rail finishers, Spoiler and Air Deflectors etc.

Should be able to produce engineering design and concepts into 3D model using CATIA V5 / V6Layout/ Packaging & Regulation studyEnsures technical convergence in the Digital/ Math data by using OEM standard practiceDigital Performance evaluation check during digital phase by checking kinematic Interference/ Contact/ ClearanceBOM creation & Data storage in NPDM / NX-PDM using assembly resolutionCreation of Capitalisation drawing and 2D drafting of Assembly and components.Product/ process constraints during the design reviews (Geometry, Process, Packaging, etc)Preparing technical presentation/ documents to highlight issues and provide feasible solutions for the same.Basic Product & Process knowledge for digital packaging & simulation studyKnowledge in Iso-statism & Chain of DimensionAdequate knowledge of plastic moulding and design process, DFMEA, DVP, DFA/DFM.Knowledge of GD&T, component drawings, Standards and Guidelines etc.Ensuring that the all project deliverables is met at given time with Dashboard document.Design the parts using Renault design standards, must have good command over CATIA/NX (Surface, Solid & Drafting) Knowledge / Experience Essential:Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive Exterior trim system and component designExtensive experience in using CATIA V5 / V6, PLM (TCE)Excellent oral and written communication skillsGood Knowledge of and/or training in:Global Exterior trim regulations (Knowhow of Indian standards will be an added advantage)Plastic injection moulding processes (both tooling and design)Exterior parts specific manufacturing requirementDesign and development knowledge of exterior trim such as Bumpers, Wheel arch liners, Cladding, Undertray, Cowl vent grill, Door Appliques, Garnish, Roof rail finishers, Spoiler and Air Deflectors etc.Daily communication with all related (Customer-RTx, other CFTs, Supplier, )Capable of using Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and WordWorking knowledge of project delivery processes.Working experience with global OEM cross functional teams will be an added advantage.Should be good Team player with positive attitude & good approach.
