Location: Glasgow Company: WPS Contract: Full-time, Permanent About the Role WPS are seeking a proactive and customer‑focused Floor Captain / Facilities Assistant to support our client ACCA in Glasgow. This is a dynamic, front‑of‑house role where you will be responsible for delivering a high‑quality workplace experience while ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day operation of facilities services. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety: Conduct regular checks across the workplace, ensuring a safe and compliant environment Contractor Management: Supervise and coordinate contractors on‑site, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently SLA Delivery: Monitor and ensure reactive maintenance tasks are completed within agreed service levels Logistics & Deliveries: Manage the receipt, handling and distribution of deliveries across the site Mailroom Operations: Process, record and distribute incoming and outgoing mail Event & Meeting Setup: Prepare rooms and spaces in line with client requirements Manual Handling: Carry out general physical tasks safely and effectively Emergency Response: Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider when required Front of House: Provide a welcoming presence, supporting staff and visitors and communicating key health and safety guidance Security & Access: Programme and issue ID cards, maintaining access control standards Issue Resolution: Investigate, log and elevate faults or issues promptly Reception Support: Provide cover for reception duties as needed File Management: Coordinate retrieval, storage and delivery of files What We're Looking For Essential Previous experience in facilities management, workplace support or a customer‑facing role Strong communication and interpersonal skills A proactive, organised approach with excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Commitment to health & safety and service excellence Desirable Experience in a corporate or professional services environment First Aid or Fire Marshal training (or willingness to undertake) Familiarity with facilities or helpdesk systems Personal Qualities Friendly and professional, with a strong customer focus Reliable and adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities Solution‑oriented, taking initiative to resolve issues A team player who builds strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage.
