Finance Business Partner - Director

EMPOWERMENT is delighted to partner with a leading plc who are seeking a proven leader in the field of Finance Business Partnering to join their expanding team.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior stakeholders to shape financial plans and translate broader business priorities into clear financial strategies.
• Deliver financial analysis, modelling, and forward-looking insights to inform commercial decisions, investment priorities, and the effective allocation of resources.
• Partner with teams across the organisation to strengthen financial performance, improve cost efficiency, and promote clear ownership of financial outcomes.
• Own or coordinate annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, ensuring robust assumptions, accurate reporting, and appropriate financial controls.
• Assess the financial implications of proposed initiatives, investment opportunities, and business cases, providing clear recommendations to support sustainable growth.
• Establish consistent approaches to financial management and contribute to the ongoing development of finance processes and team capability.

Experience:

• Qualified accountant with strong academics in undergraduate degree/masters
• At least 8 years' experience in a senior finance partnering or financial management role, with evidence of influencing commercial decisions and improving organisational performance.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including the ability to build capability and lead effectively across multiple functions or within a matrix structure.
• Strong technical expertise in financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and strategic decision support, together with confidence using modern finance systems and analytical tools.
• Superior communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and influence senior decision-makers.
• A strong record of turning financial data and analysis into actionable recommendations that deliver measurable business value and contribute to longer-term strategic objectives.
