Finance Business Partner
Stanton House
Job Description
I’m currently working with a high-profile, internationally recognised consumer business that is looking for a Finance Manager to join its commercial finance team on a 15-month maternity cover.
This is a genuinely broad commercial finance role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across marketing, subscriptions, sales and editorial/content, providing insight that directly influences investment, growth and performance.
The role
You’ll act as a key finance business partner across several high-profile areas of the business, taking ownership of budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis and performance reporting.
The role will involve:
- Leading the budget and forecasting cycles across multiple areas of responsibility.
- Business partnering with senior stakeholders across marketing, sales, subscriptions and content.
- Developing KPIs, reporting and scenario analysis to support a growing subscription proposition.
- Providing commercial insight around pricing, margin and promotional activity.
- Owning and managing a significant cost base, working with senior leaders to understand trends, challenge spend and identify efficiencies.
- Building and challenging business cases and investment proposals, ensuring they are financially robust.
- Providing proactive analysis to identify risks, opportunities and areas for growth.
- Using data and technology to improve reporting, automation and finance processes, including exploring the use of AI.
- Managing and developing a Finance Analyst, with additional oversight across wider finance support.
- Supporting senior finance leadership with strategic and ad hoc analysis.
What we're looking for
You’ll be a fully qualified accountant with strong post-qualified experience and a proven track record in commercial finance and business partnering.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong commercial finance / FP&A experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work with senior non-finance leaders.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Experience across budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and investment analysis.
- A proactive, analytical approach with the ability to move between detailed analysis and the bigger commercial picture.
- The confidence to challenge, influence and communicate financial risks and opportunities.
- A genuine interest in improving processes and finding smarter, more automated ways of working.
Experience within media, digital, marketing or subscription-led businesses would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
