About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, compliance, business performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will oversee core finance operations, ensure strong governance and controls, and provide strategic financial insight to support business decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing international business and play a key role in driving financial performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
• Prepare local statutory, management, and head office reporting
• Manage audits, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls
• Support budget preparation, forecasting, and long-term business planning
• Analyse profitability, margins, costs, cash flow, and working capital
• Collaborate across departments such as Production, Quality, and Commercial teams to support decision-making
• Oversee tax compliance and liaise with external advisors and authorities
• Drive process improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives
• Develop product costing models and provide pricing and profitability analysis
• Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts
• Support, mentor and train junior finance team members

About you

• Proven experience in an accounting and/or finance role
• Experience working for a multinational manufacturing company or similar industry
• Professional level of English and Portuguese
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a professional accounting qualification
• Strong analytical and prioritising skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
