Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist

In this role, you will support strategic decision‑making through group-level performance reporting and market-facing analysis within Investec's FP&A function. You will work closely with Finance Business Partners and Investor Relations to inform executive decisions and drive financial performance. The role involves shaping reporting standards, contributing to the Finance Transformation agenda, and partnering with Technology to enhance finance systems.

You will engage with senior stakeholders across the bank to identify opportunities and risks in a dynamic financial services environment. This is an opportunity to influence strategy and reporting at board level, within a collaborative, agile.

Key Responsibilities

• Review financial performance, identify key drivers, and support performance improvement with Finance Business Partners.
• Create and distribute ExCo reports and Board papers.
• Coordinate regular P&L and KPI forecasts.
• Consolidate the 3-year P&L & Balance Sheet plans.
• Support Investor Relations for earnings calls.
• Collate and review annual stress scenarios with Stress Testing and Capital Planning teams.
• Assist in presenting final plans to the Board.
• Monitor market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
• Drive system improvements to streamline processes and accommodate new requirements.
• Elevate reporting standards as needed.
• Support Finance Transformation and ad‑hoc projects.

Candidate profile

• Qualified accountant or equivalent professional qualification with FP&A/management accounting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Pro‑active work ethic and curiosity.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Knowledge of Oracle Fusion or Essbase/Hyperion desirable.
• Experience in Financial Services/Large Corporate (Preferred).

Working arrangements

• 4 days in the office, 1 day remote.
