\n- \n
- Location: Onsite/hybrid, Dublin, Ireland. Remote considered for candidates based elsewhere in Europe, subject to client approval. \n
- Engagement: Contract, long-term \n
- Day rate: (TBC — confirmed on application) \n
- Right to work: Right to work in Ireland or the EU required. No sponsorship available on this engagement. \n
A techno-functional consultant is required to support and evolve a major bank lending platform built on FIS ALS, currently undergoing mainframe modernisation.
\nThe role sits with the ALS development team. You will turn business need into specifications a mainframe developer can build from, and tests that prove the change behaved as specified. The work is inside the system: tracing why an account behaved as it did, identifying the parameter driving it, verifying overnight cycle output, and reconciling what ALS sends downstream against what arrives.
\nThis is a hands‑on technical role, not a coordination role.
RequirementsEssential skills\n- \n
- Hands‑on FIS ALS experience. This is a hard requirement and cannot be substituted by general lending experience. \n
- 8+ years' experience, the majority in mortgage or consumer lending — loan servicing, escrow, default management and collections. \n
- Working knowledge of the mainframe stack underpinning ALS: COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS. \n
- Specification craft: Business Requirement Documents, Functional Requirement Documents, functional and technical specifications, acceptance criteria, current- and future-state process mapping. \n
- Requirements elicitation through workshops and stakeholder interviews. \n
- Ability to specify interfaces, batch processing, file‑based feeds and data mapping between ALS, core banking and treasury systems. \n
- SQL and RDBMS concepts, sufficient to validate your own analysis. \n
- Experience delivering regulatory and compliance‑driven lending change. \n
- Experience across tiered environments: Dev, Test, UAT, Pre‑Production, Production and DR. \n
- Prior work on ALS upgrades, patches or FIS vendor releases. \n
- Experience on a mainframe modernisation or platform migration programme. \n
- \n
- Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders. \n
- Run workshops, interviews and requirement elicitation sessions. \n
- Analyse current- and future-state lending processes. \n
- Produce BRDs, FRDs and user stories, with acceptance criteria and business rules. \n
- \n
- Analyse ALS functionality across loan servicing, escrow, default management and customer account management. \n
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on existing lending processes and downstream systems. \n
- Support ALS upgrade and enhancement initiatives. \n
- \n
- Prepare detailed functional and technical specifications for development. \n
- Analyse system interfaces and data flows. \n
- Work with developers on batch processing, file‑based interfaces, integrations, and data mapping and transformation. \n
- Support solution design discussions and release activity through to production. \n
- \n
- Long-term engagement on a high‑visibility lending transformation programme. \n
- Onsite/hybrid working in Dublin, or remote within Europe subject to client approval. \n
- Which ALS modules you have worked in, and what you did in them. \n
- Whose lending book it was. \n
- Approximately which release the estate was on. \n
- One change you specified end to end, including what went wrong with it. \n
- Applications are reviewed against the covering note first. \n
