You are the driving force behind the user experience and interface innovation at MrWork. You take ownership of a high-quality, scalable React architecture and ensure that complex, AI-driven features are translated into intuitive and impactful user experiences.

This role is built around an AI-first development philosophy. You don’t just implement interfaces for AI features, you actively think in terms of how AI changes the way products are designed, built, and used. You leverage AI to increase both development speed and product quality.

Velocity is key in this role. You combine deep frontend expertise with a pragmatic, unblocking mindset. You are not limited by domain boundaries and are comfortable making targeted adjustments in backend systems or microservices to ensure continuous progress and full delivery of features.

Responsibilities

• AI-First Frontend Engineering Design and build interfaces with an AI-first mindset, ensuring AI-driven features are usable, understandable, and valuable to end users
• React Architecture Ownership Take a leading role in shaping and evolving the React and TypeScript codebase, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance
• UI for AI-Driven Features Implement complex UI logic that supports AI functionalities such as dynamic content, automation, and intelligent workflows
• Unblocking & Full-Cycle Delivery Independently unblock frontend progress by building or modifying API endpoints in Symfony or microservices in Python when needed
• Code Quality & Reusability Safeguard performance, maintainability, and reusability of components, contributing to a strong and consistent design system
• AI Tooling & Productivity Actively leverage AI coding tools (such as Cursor, Copilot, or similar) to increase development speed and improve output quality
• Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration Contribute to documentation, perform code reviews, and help elevate the team’s frontend and AI capabilities
• Epic Ownership (when applicable) Take ownership of Epics by maintaining overview, preparing tickets, and ensuring steady progress through strong communication and planning

Required Experience / Skills

• AI Mindset (Core Requirement) You embrace AI as a fundamental shift in software development and actively apply it in your daily workflow
• Strong API Integration Skills Experience working with and structuring complex APIs and data flows
• Unblocking Mentality Comfortable stepping outside of frontend boundaries to ensure delivery of complete features
• Code Quality Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Preferred Qualifications

• Backend Affinity Basic knowledge of PHP (Symfony) to read and modify backend logic when needed
• AI & Python Exposure Affinity with or experience in Python, especially in the context of AI integrations
• AI-Assisted Development Experience working in an AI-supported development workflow
• Architecture & Systems Experience working with microservices and distributed systems
• DevOps & Tooling Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerized environments
• Design Systems Experience contributing to component libraries and scalable design systems
• Testing Familiarity with testing frameworks and building reliable frontend applications
• Epic Management & Leadership Ability to lead larger initiatives, including maintaining overview, communication, ticket preparation, brainstorming, and time management

You’ll work from our beautiful office at Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the week. You’ll join an international and friendly development team with strong processes, a stable OTAP environment and a mature codebase.
