- Conduct high-impact research in quantum error correction (QEC) while mentoring and developing team members.
- Lead and manage multi-person research projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Shape the strategic direction and priorities of QEC research as the technology and roadmap evolve.
- Translate advanced research findings into actionable outcomes that align with the company’s objectives.
- Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering their professional growth and increasing their responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, collaborators, and customers, including various hardware partners.
- Contribute to the acquisition of new projects by developing compelling proposals and seeking funding opportunities.
- Collaborate across teams to accelerate product development and innovation.
- Write and review code for both internal and open-source projects.
- Effectively communicate research results through publications, presentations, and talks at conferences and workshops.
- PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality theoretical research, evidenced by publications.
- Experience in directing scientific or technical research initiatives.
- Proven leadership in managing projects with multiple contributors.
- Collaborative mindset with experience in mentoring junior colleagues.
- Familiarity with quantum error correction principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
