Role Description The Head Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The Head Accountant will oversee the group’s accounting operations, including managing general ledgers, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions. This role includes supervising the accounting team, reviewing reconciliations, monitoring cash flow, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory authorities.

The Head Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide financial insights to management for decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve improving internal controls, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and supporting other departments with financial information as needed. Qualifications Strong expertise in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.

Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions. Solid understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced MS Excel skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise accounting teams, with strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving capabilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA) are an advantage. Prior experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or machinery business environment is preferred.
