Job Description
Key responsibilities-1. Operational Finance NVOCC (LA) & Logistics (LG) DivisionsLead and oversee the finance operations team for LA (Liner Agency) and LG (Logistics) divisions with complete ownership of operational finance processesEnsure timely Statement of Account (SOA) submissions to principals with 100% adherence to due dates
- Statutory Compliances (Direct & Indirect Taxes)Ensure 100% timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), TDS returns and 26AS reconciliations across multiple entities/locationsDrive periodic turnover and ITC reconciliations between GSTR-3B and books with variance below 1%Adhere strictly to statutory compliance calendars and regulatory timelinesPrepare and coordinate responses for notices, assessments and tax queries in consultation with auditors and tax consultantsTrack and implement regulatory amendments impacting the business, including GST, Income Tax, Transfer Pricing and FEMA regulationsManage Transfer Pricing documentation and ensure timely quarterly advance tax computations and paymentsEnsure zero penalties, non-compliances, or audit observations related to taxation and statutory matters
- Compliance Control (IFRS & Shipping Regulations)Ensure full compliance with IFRS/Ind AS along with shipping-specific regulations including DG shipping norms, customs, port authority requirements, GST and income tax lawsEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting with IFRS-compliant statements and zero material audit qualifications, including vessel/voyage-related disclosuresStrengthen internal controls across shipping operations (voyage accounting, freight revenue recognition, demurrage/detention and bunker cost accounting), while coordinating statutory and maritime audits with minimal compliance risk
- Reporting & AuditsPrepare and release monthly MIS reports from ERP/new software and books within 7 days of month-end closureCoordinate and manage statutory audits, internal audits and concurrent audits for timely completion and closureEnsure accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and documentation readiness for auditsSupport management with ad-hoc financial analysis, reports and strategic assignments
Ideal talent would be a qualified CAMandatory 5+ years experience (Current / Immediate Fast) would in an NVOCC + Freight Forwarding companyTotal atleast 12+ years Post qualification experience is most preferred for this role.Open to Hi-Pots with lesser experience incase there is a strong Industry Fit with proven successful track record
Technical & Professional Knowledge required (Must have)Strong expertise in GST, Income Tax, Transfer Pricing (TP), FEMA and statutory compliance managementHands-on experience in operational finance, reconciliations, audits and reporting within logistics/shipping industryStrong working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and reconciliation/accounting toolsAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI and financial MIS/reporting toolsStrong analytical, coordination, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities
