Role Overview The Finance Head will serve as the senior finance leader in our group of companies, owning statutory compliance, financial reporting, treasury, investor relations support, and strategic financial planning. The role spans both the company-level books (manufacturing, export, brand licensing) and oversight of the e-commerce FinOps function, ensuring that marketplace-level P&L and cash flows are accurately captured in group accounts.
The Finance Head will partner closely with the Managing Director on capital allocation, banking relationships, and board-level financial communication. This is a CFO-path role. As the group scales its licensed brand portfolio and retail footprint, the Finance Head is expected to grow into a full Chief Financial Officer designation, taking on broader capital markets responsibilities, group-level financial strategy, and leadership of the complete finance function.
Key Responsibilities A. Company-Level Finance & Accounts • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all three group entities — manufacturing/export and brand/licensing • Ensure statutory compliance: Companies Act, SEBI LODR, GST, TDS, Transfer Pricing, and relevant RBI/FEMA regulations • Manage statutory and internal audits; liaise with auditors, CS, and legal counsel • Maintain and improve accounting systems in Logic ERP and Tally; enforce chart-of-accounts discipline across entities • Oversee inter-company transfer pricing — brand/article/gender/MRP basis — between group companies • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles; prepare board-ready MIS packs (P&L, BS, CF, working capital) • Manage banking relationships, working capital facilities • Support investor relations: prepare financial disclosures, earnings call materials, SEBI filings, and ad hoc investor queries for listed entities • Monitor and report exceptional items, including insurance claims, write-offs, and loss provisions B. E-commerce FinOps Oversight • Provide strategic oversight to the Finance Manager heading the e-commerce FinOps team • Ensure marketplace revenues (Myntra PPMP/SJIT, Amazon, Flipkart, Ajio, Tata Cliq, own website, Namshi) are reconciled monthly and correctly recognised in company books • Review contribution margin and realisation MIS across all channels and entities; flag leakages and take corrective action • Approve the monthly marketing expense sign-off process and ensure accruals are captured in statutory accounts • Oversee royalty and rebate reconciliation with marketplace partners; ensure timely debit/credit note processing • Integrate FinOps outputs (Unicommerce, Logic ERP, marketplace portals) into group-level reporting • Review and approve the internal business assumptions used by broader teams on quarterly alongside the FinOps team C.
Strategic & Leadership • Partner with the MD on financial modelling for new brand licensing deals, channel expansion, and capital structure decisions • Build and mentor the finance team; establish SOPs, internal controls, and segregation of duties • Drive digitisation of financial workflows — payments, reconciliations, document archival including usage of relevant AI tools like Claude • Assess government schemes (ECLGS, export incentives, PLI) for eligibility and benefit optimisation Qualifications & Experience • 8+ years of progressive finance experience; open to younger applicants who can demonstrate capability and relevant experience • Prior experience in a listed company or regulated entity strongly preferred • Background in apparel manufacturing, retail or consumer brands preferred • Hands-on exposure to e-commerce or omnichannel business — understanding of marketplace settlement cycles, alternate models like SOR / JIT • Working knowledge of Logic ERP helpful but not essential; and MS Excel/Google Sheets skills required • Experience with FEMA/RBI regulations, export finance, and bank negotiations is preferred • Working knowledge of AI tools such as Claude or Gemini is a plus
