Head of Fire Risk ManagementLocation: Remote Salary: 60,000 - 90,000 The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced fire safety professional to lead and develop a growing Fire Risk Management division within a rapidly expanding fire engineering and consultancy business.This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong technical background in fire risk assessment and remediation, combined with proven leadership and commercial management experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the team, supporting business growth, developing client relationships, and maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.The position is primarily home-based, with occasional travel required to support clients, projects, team development and business growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Fire Risk Management team, providing technical guidance, mentoring and supportDeliver and oversee complex fire risk assessments across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use buildingsUndertake and review Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 Fire Risk AssessmentsEvaluate compartmentation strategies and identify remediation requirementsDevelop and oversee fire stopping programmes and remediation projectsCarry out external wall assessments and surveys where requiredProduce and implement fire risk management plans and compliance strategiesEnsure technical quality, consistency and compliance across all project workBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and industry contactsSupport business development activities and help grow workloads, client accounts and team capabilityTake responsibility for divisional financial performance, including Profit and Loss management, forecasting and resource planningAssist with recruitment, training and career development across the team
Requirements
Significant experience within fire risk management, fire safety consultancy or a related disciplineDemonstrable experience leading complex fire risk assessment and remediation projectsStrong understanding of compartmentation, fire stopping and passive fire protectionExperience undertaking and reviewing Type 1-4 Fire Risk AssessmentsExperience carrying out external wall assessments and surveysExcellent knowledge of current UK fire safety legislation, guidance and industry standardsProven experience managing and developing technical teamsCommercial awareness with previous Profit and Loss responsibility preferredStrong client-facing and business development skillsExcellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to work independently whilst contributing to a collaborative national team
Desirable
Level 4 Fire Safety qualification or equivalentExperience with EWS1 assessmentsMembership of a recognised professional bodyExperience within a consultancy environment
