Position: Head - LogisticsLocation: Delhi/NCR Designation: AVP/VP Qualification: MBA + Graduation Experience: 20+ yearsRole OverviewThe Head - Logistics will be responsible for leading end-to-end logistics, trade compliance, and EXIM operations for the organisation. The role will drive efficient import/export processes, ensure regulatory compliance, optimise costs, and enable seamless supply chain execution aligned with business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Compliance & EXIM OperationsEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Customs, DGFT, DRI, and EXIM policiesMonitor and interpret regulatory changes and ensure adherence across operationsManage EPCG, Advance Authorisation, Duty Drawback, refunds, and related schemesImport / Export & Customs ClearanceLead end-to-end import/export operations across air, sea (LCL/FCL), and courier shipmentsEnsure timely clearance within defined lead timesHandle documentation, audits, and post-clearance queries Freight & Logistics ManagementOversee inbound/outbound logistics including air and ocean freightCoordinate with CHA, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transportersManage HSS transactions and ensure correct HSN classification, tariff codes, and duty structuresCommercial & Cost OptimizationNegotiate contracts, freight rates, and vendor agreementsMonitor logistics budgets and drive cost optimization initiativesIdentify opportunities for efficiency improvement across the supply chainPerformance & AnalyticsTrack key logistics KPIs (TAT, cost per shipment, clearance timelines, etc.)Leverage data analytics for decision-making and continuous improvementBuild dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership reviewCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Procurement, Sales, Production, and Finance teamsAlign logistics strategies with overall business and project timelinesSystems & Process ExcellenceDrive usage of ERP and digital tools such as SAP, Ariba, MS OfficeStandardize processes and ensure documentation accuracyStrengthen internal controls and audit readinessIssue Resolution & Risk ManagementProactively manage shipment disruptions and escalationsEnsure business continuity in case of logistics challengesAddress customer/vendor issues effectivelyKey CompetenciesStrong expertise in EXIM, customs, and trade complianceDeep understanding of INCOTERMS, HSN codes, and duty structuresNegotiation and vendor management skillsStrategic thinking with strong execution capabilityData-driven decision-makingPreferred BackgroundExperience in renewables / EPC / manufacturing / industrial sectorsExposure to large-scale, multi-location logistics operations
