Job Description
About the Role Headteacher of Compass Community Schools, a specialist 60-desk school supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Responsibilities Coordinate the delivery of a holistic curriculum that places pupils’ needs at the centre of their learning. Work closely with industry professionals and manage a team of staff, providing clear authentic leadership that inspires, engages and influences real change.
Deliver teaching – 0.4 of the overall timetable – including Maths and/or English to GCSE level and, when required, vocational BTEC, Functional Skills or ELC courses. Design and deliver creative and academically engaging curricula, working with a range of professional networks. Engage in all aspects of school life with passion, resilience and a commitment to making a difference to pupils’ lives.
Qualifications Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven record of good or outstanding teaching practice. Experience working with children with SEMH & SEND, crisis-management, behaviour that challenges and supporting children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Willingness and ability to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE level; additional experience in delivering vocational BTEC, Functional Skills or ELC courses.
Experience designing and delivering creative, academically engaging curricula and excellent management skills, with the ability to work with various professional networks.
