About the Company
The Empire State Mine (“ESM”) (Division of Titan Mining) is an underground zinc mine near the town of Gouverneur, New York State. ESM is comprised of a group of high-grade mines – ESM #4 mine which is in production, and six historic mines. ESM #4 mine restarted mining operations in January 2018 and began producing zinc concentrate in March 2018. The ESM #1, #2 and #3, Hyatt, Pierrepont and Edwards mines are all within a 30-mile radius of the 5,000 tons-per-day (tpd) mill.
Position Overview
Empire State Mines is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the role of
HDE Diesel Mechanic
at its specialized zinc and graphite mines. Located within 2-hour drive of The Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, the Adirondack Mountains and world class skiing at Lake Placid. Explore Canada with Montreal and Ottawa only 2-3 hours away.
Responsibilities:
Work with all crews sitewide to support continued production.
Tasks could be, but not limited to
Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of mobile underground equipment including diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, rims, tires and wheels
Perform PMs including scheduled hour services, changing fluids, filters, inspections, and other component checks
Perform welding and fabrication duties (frame repairs, brackets, body work, etc.
Complete required maintenance reports and logs
Required qualifications
Minimum 3 years heavy duty diesel earth moving equipment maintenance
Authorized to work in the US
Able to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient manner
Must be able to perform the work without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others due to the safety sensitivity of tasks
