As our HR Compliance Specialist, your mission is to lead and strengthen compliance across a multi-state organization, with a strong focus on regulatory adherence, unemployment claims management, and risk mitigation. You’ll play a critical role in building scalable processes, ensuring compliance integrity, and supporting both corporate and resort operations.

Your Impact
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Occupational Safety and Health Act
- Conduct and maintain compliant Form I-9 audits, including tracking expiring documentation
- Oversee regulatory reporting such as EEO-1 and OSHA logs
- Perform internal audits to identify gaps and implement corrective actions
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update policies and practices
Unemployment Claims Management
- Manage end-to-end unemployment claims, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant responses
- Partner with managers to gather documentation and determine appropriate claim responses
- Prepare for and represent the company in unemployment hearings as needed
- Track and analyze claim trends to identify risk areas and recommend proactive solutions
- Ensure compliance with varying state unemployment regulations across a multi-state workforce
Policy & Procedure Development
- Draft, revise, and implement HR policies to ensure compliance and operational consistency
- Support employee handbook updates aligned with evolving regulations and company practices
Employee Training & Safety
- Coordinate compliance-related training including workplace safety, harassment prevention, and code of conduct
- Support safety initiatives that reduce incidents and mitigate organizational risk
HR Systems & Recordkeeping
- Maintain and audit employee data across HRIS platforms (UKG, Paylocity, ADP)
- Ensure accurate and compliant recordkeeping of personnel, medical, and investigation files
Employee Relations Support
- Assist with employee relations matters, conducting preliminary reviews and partnering with HR leadership
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all compliance-related activities
What You Bring
- 3+ years of HR compliance experience with strong exposure to employment laws and regulations
- Hands-on experience managing unemployment claims, including responses and hearings
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as UKG, Paylocity, and ADP
- Experience conducting I-9 audits and managing compliance documentation
- Confidence and independence in supporting management and strengthening compliance across the organization
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
- Experience in hospitality, multi-location, or high-growth environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
