Advancement at Nanowave is dependent on two main factors: A person’s in-depth knowledge of their subject area The ability and willingness to work as a member of a diverse team of professionals to meet the company’s commitments to customers About the Role The HR Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, coordination, and front‑line support across all human resources functions to ensure smooth day‑to‑day HR operations. Working closely with the HR Manager and HR Generalist, this role supports the full employee life cycle, maintains accurate HR data, assists with payroll‑related tasks, and provides occasional front desk coverage to support overall office operations. Responsibilities Coordinate recruitment and onboarding including job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, and new‑hire documentation.
Support orientation and offboarding by preparing materials, collecting forms, and updating HR systems. Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy in HRIS and personnel files. Assist with benefits administration, leaves of absence, and employee program coordination.
Coordinate employee training including scheduling, logistics, attendance tracking, and recordkeeping. Support employee communications and engagement initiatives. Assist with HR compliance including policy updates, audits, and documentation.
Serve as first point of contact for general HR inquiries and redirect as appropriate. Collaborate with the HR Generalist to provide timely support to all departments. Support payroll preparation by verifying hours, reviewing employee changes, and ensuring accuracy of documentation.
Approve vacation and time‑off requests, update HR systems, and coordinate with managers on scheduling conflicts. Provide front desk coverage as needed, including greeting visitors, answering calls, etc. Provide administrative support to HR and office operations as required.
Support HR projects and initiatives assigned by the HR Manager. Education Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Skills / Requirements 2–3 years of experience in an HR support, HR Coordinator, or administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices. Familiarity with payroll processes and timekeeping systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems is an asset. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
