Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Holly MI
Hours: 7:30 AM- 4:30 PM, with a one hour lunch
Pay: Salaried position 85-105K Depending on experience
We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for locations in and around Flint, MI. This dynamic professional will be responsible for full-scale Human Resources including policy and procedure administration, benefits administration, employee and labor relations, recruitment, etc. The successful candidate will assess and anticipate HR-related needs and will be an excellent partner to plant management.
This is a Direct Hire position!
Primary Duties:
Serves as a working manager willing to do what it takes to carry out all HR initiatives.
Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Assists Manufacturing and Plant Managers with grievance investigations and response. Attends meetings with union representatives to effectively resolve grievance issues.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of state, federal and local legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Partners with senior management and legal as needed/required to recommend best practices.
Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, OSHA regulations and employment law.
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of company benefits program including 401k plan.
Assists Safety Manager and plant personnel with investigation and oversight of employee injuries and Worker’s Compensation program.
Prepares reports to track hiring and termination metrics and others as needed. Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Oversees and assists as necessary with maintenance of personnel files.
Ensures compliance with I-9 and other federally required forms and programs.
Manages relationship with FMLA third party administrator to ensure compliance and assists with administration.
Responds to unemployment claims and attends hearings as necessary.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization’s HRIS system.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
A minimum of five years of human resource management experience required.
A minimum of three years’ experience in assisting with union collective bargaining agreement negotiations required.
Physical Requirements:
Generally located in an office environment. However, frequent, and often unplanned visits to plant sites.
Will require presence on shop floor. Will be exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels. Must be willing and able to wear PPE as required.
Must be willing and able to drive between locations.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
Lifting requirement will be no more than standard objects founds in office environments.
