The Instrument Technician will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.Open to external candidates only. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will under general supervision, calibrate and repairs various instruments for electrical and mechanical measurements used in aeronautical tests and research activities and in plant control.
Supplementary Functions: Participation in functional specific safety training.Job Duties:Modifies, fabricates, maintains, repairs, and calibrates a with variety of mechanical, optical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic indicating and recording instrument and precision measuring equipmentPerforms diagnostic and troubleshooting activities required to service discrete and digital logic instrument control systemsConnect instruments to computers and recording devicesAdjusts and calibrates instruments as directed and adapts them to new or extended usesAssists in servicing and adjusting computers, microprocessors, and peripheral devicesUses a wide variety of instruments, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned dutiesWorks primarily in a laboratory or field equipment environmentAssists in training lower-level techniciansIt is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Performs other related duties as required ResponsibilitiesBasic Qualifications:Educational Equivalent: Must possess High School Diploma or equivalentSpecific Knowledge or Experience: Four years of progressive experience in technical instrumentation with six months’ schooling in electronics or instrumentation fieldIn-depth knowledge of operational characteristics of laboratory test instrumentsLicenses/Certifications: Valid State Driver’s LicenseCommunication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directionsMust put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperationCurrent United States Citizenship requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area networkCurrent U. S.
