Job Description
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager or Lead Project Scheduler, the Intermediate Scheduler is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and updating of the project schedule across engineering, procurement and construction phases of the project. Coordinating with engineering, procurement, sustainability and construction teams to collect schedule inputs to ensure accurate progress tracking while contributing to the timely production of schedule reports, ensuring alignment with project controls, reporting requirements and maintaining data integrity and compliance with established procedures, standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules within established frameworks, standards, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Update schedule activities, durations, logic, and progress based on input from discipline leads and contractors.
- Collect, validate, and consolidate schedule progress data from engineering, procurement, sustainability, and construction teams.
- Generate routine schedule reports, including weekly and monthly updates, look-ahead schedules, and progress summaries.
- Support schedule coordination with EPC/EPCM contractor representatives and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential schedule inconsistencies, delays, or logic gaps and escalate to senior project controls personnel.
- Maintain schedule files, progress records, and historical archives in accordance with project procedures.
- Participate in schedule update meetings and coordination sessions with project teams.
Education, Experience & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 4–8 years of project scheduling experience on capital projects
- Experience supporting engineering, procurement, sustainability, or construction schedules
- Working proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to mining, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects is an asset
- Familiarity with project controls concepts and systems is an asset
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, AACE) are considered an asset
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Office-based role with periodic travel to project site in northern Ontario
- Site visits may account for up to 15–20% of working time during peak phases
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility required during reporting cycles
- Site work requires compliance with safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Occasional extended hours may be required during key project milestones
Base Salary is $105,000 - $125,000 CAD + target bonuses with additional benefits which include health coverage and professional development support.
