Job Description
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for performing basic physical inventory and systematic inventory control functions that relate to the daily needs of the business in order to support the production environment. The Inventory Control Clerk ensures the accuracy of inventory as well as the preservation of the condition of materials in storage, handling, and transportation.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing and inputting all PO receipts into SAP including in-transit material
- Being responsible for entering material movement data within SAP system
- Maintaining a good working relationship with internal customers by responding to all inquiries and complaints concerning receipts, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc. in a courteous and efficient manner
- Organizing and maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times
- Working closely with the Purchasing Department on incoming, first article and in-process inspections
- Conducting sample inspections of vendor managed items
- Scheduling incoming deliveries from suppliers and carriers
- Receiving and unloading incoming materials and comparing information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipments
- Being responsible for labeling of incoming goods before storage
- Maintaining the correct quantities of inventory for the warehouse
- Receiving orders from customers and filling them in a timely manner
- Ensuring proper care in the use of maintenance of material, equipment and supplies
- Following established department policies, procedures, and objectives
- Inspecting shipments for damages or defects. Recording discrepancies or damages and notifying supervisor and/or QA department
- Sorting, counting, packaging, ensuring proper labeling, unpacking and/or logging inventory that is shipped, received or kitted
- Generating all related paperwork and necessary information required to post inventory records
- Maintaining key performance indicators related to the inventory control processes
- Working overtime as needed based on customer needs
- Complying with all safety rules and regulations
- Exhibiting continuous improvement-oriented behavior
- Other duties as required
