Job Description About the Role: Shiawassee Council on Aging is looking for a passionate and organized Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations in Durand, MI. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal planning, preparation, and service for senior nutrition programs
• Supervise, schedule, and train kitchen staff and volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
• Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food costs within budget
• Ensure meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements for senior populations
• Coordinate with program staff to support meal delivery and congregate dining services
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience in kitchen management, food service supervision, or a related role
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health regulations
• Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to serving the senior community
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
