Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Kitchen & Gas Mechanic Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all commercial kitchen appliances and gas-operated systems. This includes cooking ranges, fryers, ovens, steamers, and related infrastructure. The technician ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local codes and hotel standards. Education & Experience: • Technical certification or trade school diploma in mechanical, gas fitting, or electrical fields.• Minimum 2–3 years of experience with gas and kitchen equipment in a commercial or hospitality setting.• Any license or training related to gas operation equipment will be helpful. • Valid seminar or certification related to gas equipment.• Strong knowledge of gas safety codes, kitchen systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.• HVAC, plumbing and electrical system Knowledge. Skills & Competencies• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical requirements: • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the shift.• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to use tools and equipment safely and effectively.• Ability to tolerate exposure to varying environments, including heat and humidity.• Capable of working in confined spaces.• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and sometimes long hours.• Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
