We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Flavour Production team in Runcorn. This is a hands-on, laboratory-based role where you will play a key part in the preparation and development of flavourings, supporting our flavourists in delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.You will be involved in a wide range of flavour production activities, gaining exposure to different flavour formats while developing your technical and sensory expertise.Key responsibilities
Prepare a variety of flavour formats includingLiquid blend topnotesPowder flavourings (dry blends & spray dry)Thermal process flavouringsLiquid extractsFollow detailed formulations and ensure precise measurement and accuracy at all timesSupport flavourists with product tastings of finished flavourings and raw materialsDevelop the ability to taste, evaluate, and accurately describe flavour profilesMaintain high standards of lab organisation, hygiene, and workflow efficiencyCollaborate closely with the flavourist team and cross-functional stakeholdersSupport day-to-day laboratory operations and contribute to continuous improvementQualifications and skills
Strong attention to detail and a highly methodical approach to workExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesA proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in describing flavour attributesA keen interest in flavours, food, or sensory scienceAbility to taste and distinguish subtle flavour nuancesAdaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentPractical experience of working in a food laboratory environment.Experience of working in a flavour development or application lab would be advantageous.Working knowledge of IT based applications such as SAP, Optiva, Salesforce.com and Microsoft applications such as Excel etc.
